Splashball™ is a form of Water Polo for all kids aged 5-11 that combines skills from Swimming, Basketball, Soccer, Football, Volleyball and puts these skills in the water. It is a non-contact kid friendly version of water polo played in a shallow pool and/or with a pool noodle for support. This program has been setup specifically for athletes that are new to water polo and want to learn. We will teach the athletes the fundamentals necessary to be successful.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!!!
All the fundamentals of water polo will be taught in a fun and safe atmosphere. We will emphasize individual skills of passing, shooting and swimming fitness. We will provide skills and technique instruction while maintaining all recommended social distancing and sanitizing protocols. At this time, we will not be having games or scrimmages due to the required distancing, but we will still have fun!
This program will come with an additional requirement of an annual registration with USA Water Polo. You will need to provide your annual Splashball Pass Holder ID number when you sign up.
Please register your polo player using this link. This annual $10.00 additional fee goes to support USA Water Polo, a non-profit organization operating under charter of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (“USOPC”). The federation provides play opportunities for all ages, abilities and commitment levels throughout the United States, from sanctioning local tournaments to producing national championships to selecting and training U.S. Olympic Teams.
Each participant will receive a Skagit Valley Family YMCA Water Polo shirt.
