Tai Chi

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a form of exercise based originally on the Chinese Internal martial art of Taijiquan. Tai Chi originated as a form of self-defense but has since evolved into a form of exercise involving gentle exercise, breathing exercises, and moving meditation that can improve physical and mental health.

Participants in the 12-week program will learn various breathing exercises and other basic Tai Chi principles that provide holistic health benefits. Tai Chi is considered an “internal” martial art, meaning relaxation, correct body structure, and correct breathing are all focused on. Benefits of Tai Chi include improved balance, rehabilitation of injuries, and can help those living with diabetes, Parkinson’s, arthritis, and lung disorders.

Leading our new Tai Chi program will be Sifu Larry Braniff, who has over 55 years of experience in the martial arts world. He is a certified instructor through the American Tai Chi and Qigong Association at the Master level. As well as certified through the International Sun Tai Chi Association, and holds certifications in Yang and WuHao styles.

Tai Chi is a journey. A journey starts with the first step. We invite you to join us on this journey!
